About T.E.

Transitional Employment offered through Clubhouses provides opportunities for members to enter/reenter employment in the community with a real job for real money. The competitive hiring process is eliminated, enabling a Clubhouse member with a history of mental illness to acquire a job. Clubhouse will assist with all work related needs and issues while employed. Clubhouse staff will also work with Clubhouse members to prepare for and acquire independent employment.

Benefits to the Employer

T.E. saves time and money training the new employee. Attendance is 100% guaranteed!

Benefits to the Employee

T.E. allows gainful employment to people with mental illness, who have little or no experience. Gives Clubhouse members confidence and positive work habits and a chance to establish a work history. Members skip the intimidating and competitive application and interview process. Members are trained by Clubhouse staff who were trained free of charge to the employer and can instruct and support the employee throughout the work period of 6 to 9 months. Clubhouse members become more independent, self sufficient and can rely less on government subsidies and aid.

How T.E. Works

The employer and Clubhouse agree on a position. Clubhouse staff trains for the position free of charge to the employer and will be the permanent placement manager for the position. Clubhouse selects the member for the position and Clubhouse placement manager will train the member free of charge. The member will be paid prevailing wages and assisted through the companies hiring process by the placement manager. The placement manager and employer decide when the member is ready to work independently. Should the member be unable to work then another trained member will fill in. Should the placement manager fill in for member there would be no charge. The job lasts 6 to 9 months then another member will be chosen and trained with the same support and training by the placement manager.
